City Gates of Waterdeep

The Trollwall of Waterdeep is pierced by four gates: the South Gate; the River Gate; Northgate; and Westgate.

South Gate

The South Gate (South Ward, Waterdeep) is one of the four gates through the Trollwall, heading southeast. It is pierced by the Way of the Dragon and is the main entrance and exit point for caravans frequenting the city and points south.

River Gate

The River Gate (Trades Ward/South Ward, Waterdeep) is one of the four gates through the Trollwall, heading east. It is pierced by River Street which links up with the High Road. The other gates are the South Gate, Northgate, and Westgate.

Northgate

Northgate (North Ward, Waterdeep) is one of the four gates through the Trollwall, heading northeast. It is pierced by the High Road and is the main entrance and exit point for caravans frequenting the city and points north.

West Gate

West Gate (Sea Ward, Waterdeep) is one of the four gates through the Trollwall, heading west. It is pierced by Diamond Street and is the smallest of the gates, used mainly by locals wishing to access Sea's Edge Beach.
